5 Tips For When You Are Feeling Uninspired

Hello guys! It’s been a bit since I last updated the blog. This delay is actually part of the reason I decided to talk about today’s topic: inspiration. More specially, feeling UN-inspired. These past couple of weeks have been busy, stressful, and exhausting. All of these things resulted in me feeling lost, uninspired, and in a bit of a rut.

Because of all of this, I decided to go on a bit on a social media black out. I knew I needed to get my life sorted and find my inspiration again. Below, I’ll be sharing with you the things I learned that helped me get my groove back.

1. Relax! Don’t Stress About It.

One of the biggest problems I encountered during my rut, was that I was constantly getting in my own head and stressing myself out in unnecessary ways. I felt like as a blogger and content creator, I needed to be constantly posting, both on the blog and on social media. So if I wasn’t posting, or my posts weren’t as successful as I thought they should be, then I was failing. This mentality is never healthy, but especially not when you are trying to find that spark that got you started in the first place. So my advice, learn from my mistakes. You are not required to be in a state of constant success. In fact, it is perfectly healthy and understandable to take breaks when needed. Your mental and emotional well being is more important than the amount of likes you get on Instagram. It took a while for me to fully realize and accept this, but once I did I knew I wasn’t going to forget it anytime soon.

2. Ask Questions And Get Advice.

Another thing that I am always struggling with is learning to ask for help and taking criticism and advice. In this industry it is very important to be open to opportunities to learn and grow. As someone who is fairly new to the world of blogging and content creating, I am constantly learning from my mistakes. However, it is also important for me to learn from the mistakes of those who have been here before.

It took me awhile but once I realized that I wasn’t going to get out of this inspiration rut by myself, I started asking family, friends, people who read my blog, and fellow bloggers for advice. The thing about advice is that it can either be general or specific depending on your relationship with the advice giver. But regardless of the specificity of the advice, you always have something to be gained. The people around you are there to help for a reason, and when you feel like you are lost in a tunnel and you can’t see the way out, they are able to see things that you can’t and offer insight from a different perspective.

3. Don’t Compare Yourself To Others.

On a different note, it is important to consider that you are not the person next to you. According to that self deprecating voice in your head there will always be someone better at it than you. I know it’s hard to get out of this mindset, and we are all capable of backsliding, but we need to remember that no one is perfect. You are your own person; no matter how hard you try you will never be them. It’s okay to take inspiration from the people that you admire and look up to, but you have to remember that at the end of the day you are you. And there’s nothing wrong with being you.

Comparing yourself to others will only end badly for you. It will leave you feeling inadequate, and nothing will ever compare to that image you have in your head. We are our own worst critics, and I think it’s time that we start looking at everything through the lens of reality instead of the lens of societal expectations and ideals. I’ll leave you with this: be successful on your own terms and not anyone else’s.

4. Surround Yourself With Things That Encourage Creativity.

If you see something that inspires you, save it. Pin it on a board. Take a picture. Make sure you look at it everyday. I have started doing this, and it is amazing how inspired and creative I started feeling when I focused on the things that made me happy, instead of the things I thought I had to do in order to be successful. Suddenly I knew what I wanted to do, I knew what content I wanted to focus on, and I had all of these ideas. I was starting to feel inspired again, and it was amazing!

5. Be True To Yourself!

The final point I am going to talk about is being true to yourself and your personality. Focus on the things that make you happy and people will relate to it. Being yourself will make others want to do the same. I guess what I’m trying to say is that if you truly understand who you are as a person, the things that motivate you, and the things that bring you joy, inspiration will follow. It may not be as simple as it sounds, and it’s going to be different for everyone, but I promise that if you focus on this the rest will eventually fall into place.

I hope that this helps anyone who may be feeling stressed, or like your life is in a rut and that no matter what you do you are still uninspired. You are not alone.

I know that I focused on inspiration and how it relates to the life of a blogger, but I feel like these are basic life lessons that can be relevant to any walk of life. If you have any tips of your own for when you are feeling uninspired, let me know in the comments down below!

See you next week!

Today’s Look: Happy Valentine’s Day!

Hello everyone! I know that Valentine’s Day is such a polarizing subject; you either love it or you hate. But for me, regardless of my relationship status, I tend to be pretty neutral. Valentine’s Day is a great time to be with loved ones, romantic or not, and treat yourself and those around you to something special. For me, today is a pretty normal day full of work, class, and blogging. However, I plan on treating myself to one of my favorite meals and a night of relaxing and watching some of my favorite shows. There’s also something special about telling those closest to you how much you love them and what they mean to you. Regardless of your feelings on Valentine’s Day, I hope you enjoy today’s post.

I’m sure if you have been on social media at all today you have probably seen tons of sappy posts full of the colors pink and red. When I was planning this shoot I realized I don’t really have a lot of pink or red, and to be honest, it’s not really my style. So instead, I came up with this casual, toned down look that takes a little inspiration from today’s romantic holiday.

IMG_2242IMG_2347IMG_2370

Okay but this scarf! I was antiquing with my family in Arkansas one day, and I fell in love with it. It’s made in Italy and has a beautiful, romantic Victorian scene on it with a blush pink outline. I knew that even if I didn’t find the courage to wear it, it would be worth it just to own and admire.

But I decided I couldn’t leave it at that. It felt like a great disservice to this beautifully made scarf to sit in my closet and not show it off. So I decided to style it. This required a lot of research on Pinterest about what to wear it with and how to tie it. I ended up tying the scarf in a very French inspired way and went with a simple outfit, because I wanted the scarf to be the statement piece.

Here’s how I tied this scarf, in case you were wondering.

  1. Start with a square scarf
  2. Fold the square in half to form a triangle
  3. Roll the bottom of the triangle in 1-1 1/2 inch folds until about half way up the scarf
  4. Take the long folded ends, and with the remaining triangle in the front of your neck, wrap the ends around the back of your neck
  5. Pull the ends in front of your neck, and tie them in a knot over the triangle
  6. Adjust and tighten as needed

Sorry if that is confusing to you. I tried to explain it as best as possible. Just think of it like a fancy bandanna!

IMG_2282IMG_2262IMG_2314

I paired this scarf with this cream sweater from H&M. I thought about wearing it with a striped sweater, but decided this solid one looked better with the colors in the scarf. To keep the colors in the outfit light and pastel, I wore my light blue denim jeans with distressing at the ankle. This little detail, along with these snakeskin booties, really pulled the look together. I just love the subtlety of the muted colors and little details. For me, its a simple outfit that really packs a stylistic and unexpected punch.

IMG_2387IMG_2367

Although I’m not the biggest fan of Valentine’s Day, or bright pink and red outfits, I feel like this look accomplishes the task of being a slightly festive Valentine’s outfit, while also being something you could wear any other day of the year and no one would find it outrageous. Like me, this outfit celebrates Valentine’s Day in the most neutral way possible. Maybe that’s why I love it so much…

IMG_2291

I wish you all a wonderful Valentine’s Day, whether you are as single as a Pringle, or happily in a relationship. Hold the ones you love a little tighter than normal today, and carry that love on passed today. Because the ones we love deserve more than just one day a year, am I right?

I’ll see y’all next week!

Three Items You Can Transition from Winter to Spring

It’s that time of the year again! The time of the year when one day feels like we are in the middle of winter, and the next day feels like spring is in the air. It can be very difficult to know what to wear this time of the year, especially when you want to wear something cute and trendy without freezing. Below I am going to show you three of my favorite items, how I style them now, and how I’ll be wearing them once it’s warmer.

Photo Dec 02, 8 30 06 PMPhoto Dec 02, 8 23 20 PM

Shirt: Old Navy  Skirt Old Navy (similar here)  Purse: BCBG  Hat: Target (similar here) Booties: Old Navy (similar here)

Photo Dec 02, 8 14 53 PMPhoto Dec 02, 8 12 26 PM

First off, this skirt! I have been obsessed with this skirt all fall and winter, and I just know that I’m going to get some more use out of it once spring starts. I love pairing it with black and white. I’ve never been one to shy away from pairing neutrals together, and when done right, black and brown can look very chic. I wore it with tights to help keep me warm, and these black ankle booties. When it starts getting warmer, I plan on wearing it with graphic tees and sneakers or ankle booties (sans tights), or even light weight blouses. Even though the skirt is (faux) suede, the material is quite thin and comfortable, and I think when paired with colors like cream, blush pink, or even light blue it will instantly look more spring-y.

Photo Dec 02, 8 11 22 PMPhoto Dec 02, 8 17 43 PM

To me this silky shirt is an instant classic in my wardrobe. I know most people would say that a white button down is a must have, but for me a pin stripe button down is just as versatile and much more my personal style. I’ve always been a fan of stripes, and the vertical stripes on this blouse are flattering on any body type! The material has a silky finish that gives it a vintage 60s and 70s vibe. I paired it with my suede button down skirt to play off of that vintage look. In the spring, I plan on wearing this shirt with a denim skirt, shorts, or boyfriend jeans and then sandals or mules.

Photo Dec 02, 9 02 06 PMPhoto Dec 02, 8 28 48 PM

The last piece in this outfit is this newsboy/baker boy/caddy hat. This style of hat has been such a huge trend lately, and the funniest thing is that I’ve had this hat for years! When I was younger, I was constantly buying hats and then never wearing them because I was too worried about what people would think. It has taken a lot of conscious effort, but I have slowly started to erase this mindset. So when this look started making it’s rounds on Instagram and fashion blogs, I knew I had to break this old hat out. Plus it saved me some money! Even though this hat has a very fall and winter look to it, I plan on wearing it throughout the early stages of spring with graphic tees, boyfriend jeans, denim skirts, and sneakers. If styled correctly, this hat can add an interesting element to a casual outfit.

I styled the rest of this look with these delicate, dangly earrings, and vintage, gold bow necklace. This necklace is actually my Grandma’s! She gave it to me recently when she noticed me admiring it. I love the statement it adds to every outfit. My Grandma certainly has style. Thanks Grandma!

I know Groundhog’s Day has come and gone, and according to the groundhog we are supposed to have more winter weather coming our way, but I can’t stop thinking of all the spring outfits I want to wear. Guess, we will all have to wait. Hopefully this post helped you see your winter faves in a new light, so you can style them in spring as transitional outfits!

Until next time!

Today’s Look: The Two Trends I Used to Hate

Hello everyone! I hope you had a relaxing weekend. I spent the weekend back home with my family, and left feeling rejuvenated and motivated to take on this week! I guess we will see how long that lasts.

Today I wanted to share an outfit with you that I was initially very skeptical about: boyfriend jeans and camouflage. I realize that neither of these trends are new, and I’m a little late to the party, but it took me awhile to fully get on board. In my mind, boyfriend jeans only looked flattering on skinny girls, and camouflage was meant for hunting. Boy was I wrong! These two items have quickly become my college winter uniform.

IMG_5878

Jeans: Old Navy (on sale for $30!)  Jacket: Old Navy (also on sale for $30!)  Sweater: Target (old)  Belt: Anne Klein  Shoes: Puma  Purse: Ross

Boyfriend jeans are meant to fit your waist like regular jeans, but loosely fit your legs and hips. Plus, these jeans are a straight cut so they do not taper at the bottom of the leg. I always thought that of all the extra material would make me look heavier than I am, but this cut is actually more flattering on me than skinny jeans. I got these in my regular size, and they fit like a dream. They have a slight high waist, light wash, and distressing on both legs.

I have a love/hate relationship with distressed jeans, and by that I mean that when I try to buy distressed jeans, they are never as distressed as I want them. They are either too distressed or not distressed enough, but these are just right. I never knew how comfortable jeans could be until I started wearing boyfriend jeans! I typically belt them with something tucked in the front, because this is an overall more flattering silhouette. But you can wear them with things untucked as well.

IMG_5786IMG_5958IMG_5764

Because the jeans are so light, I paired them with this dark grey turtleneck sweater for some contrast. This sweater has been a favorite of mine since I got it at Target a couple years ago. The chunky knit helps add a textural element to the outfit. To top the outfit off I added my new favorite jacket: this Old Navy camo utility jacket. Like I said before, I always thought camouflage was only meant for hunting. And if camo was worn for fashion it always came off as tacky to me.

When camouflage started making its rounds as a trend, I kind of rolled my eyes and avoided it. And then this jacket came into work one day, and it immediately caught my eye. I have this same jacket is two other colors, khaki and olive green, so I knew that I would like the fit of it. I tried it on one day just for the heck of it, and fell in love. I wasn’t sure how I would style it at the time, but I knew I had to have it. And I know that I am eating my words, but camo definitely works as a neutral! You can wear it with anything, and it adds pattern and interest to even the most casual outfit. I find myself reaching for this jacket almost everyday, and it pairs so well with boyfriend jeans, a tee shirt or sweater, and sneakers. This has basically become my everyday cool girl outfit.IMG_5782IMG_5875IMG_5787

When it came down to accessories, I knew I wanted to wear my new Puma Ignite sneakers. I got these for Christmas and have literally not taken them off since. They are a creamy off-white color, and they definitely give my Adidas Superstars a break. I chose them because they are different from any other sneakers I have. Most of my collection is flat and round, much like the shape of the superstars, but these provide more support for my foot and are insanely comfortable. I also think they are a lot easier to clean than my Adidas. But don’t worry! They still have a special place in my heart.

To me, this outfit is very model off duty, effortless, and cool. I am obsessed.

If you take away one thing from today’s post it should be to never judge a trend without first trying it out yourself. Never be afraid to try something new, especially when it comes to fashion. And no matter what, be comfortable and confident in your own skin!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post. Let me know your thoughts on the camouflage and boyfriend jeans trend. What trends do you hate, and do you think you will give them a chance now?

My Winter Skincare Routine

Hey guys! Happy Tuesday!

I don’t know about where you are, but here in Oklahoma it has been very chilly. And for me, that only means one thing: dry skin! However, there is one catch. I have combination skin, which means that parts of my face are extremely dry and other parts are extremely oily. Sadly, the colder months only intensify these problems. So today I am showing you the products and routine that I use on a daily basis. If you suffer from problems similar to mine, I would highly recommend trying out some of these products and finding the routine that best suits you and your skin!

I know that everybody’s skin is different, and while these products work for my skin, they might not work for yours. I am not a dermatologist, nor do I claim to be. I am just here to share my personal experiences and encourage you to develop your own skincare regimen.

IMG_5495

Skin Care Correct

1. Biore Charcoal Cleanser  2.  Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Melting Balm  3. Biore Acne Scrub  4. Mario Badescu Rose Facial Spray  5. Kerstin Florian Rehydrating Neroli Water  6. Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer

Cleansing –

I tried this Biore cleanser and exfoliating scrub by chance this summer, and I fell in love! The charcoal in it helps take care of the oilier parts of my face. And while I’ve never had an issue with acne and blemishes, this cleanser and scrub have completely gotten rid of the occasional spots I used to get. If you have combination, oily, or acne-prone skin, I would highly recommend this product. However, if you skin tends to be dry, I would look into a product like Farmacy’s Green Clean Makeup Melting Balm. This oil based cleanser is moisturizing while completely melting away all of your makeup. I know that sounds weird, but I have never seen a product that takes off my makeup so easily (and I wear a lot of it!) I typically use this first to get all of my makeup off, and then wash my face again with the cleanser and scrub.

IMG_5505

Facial Spray (Toning) –

After washing my face, I use the Mario Bedescu Rose facial spray or the Kerstin Florian toner water. By spraying it all over my face, I feel refreshed. The Mario Bedescu spray has aloe and rose in it, which is meant to reduce facial redness. The toner is supposed to help close your pores and shrink and tighten them. Now I don’t actually know if this is true, or if this step is completely necessary, but I have noticed a difference in my skin’s look and texture. So take that as you will.

Serums/Oils –

Now you are probably wondering: if I complain about my skin being oily, why would I put more oils on my face? Well the two oils/serums that I use both have ingredients that make them great for my skin type. I use a serum with hyaluronic acid, which is actually good for providing moisture to oily skin, while still being lightweight. It is easily absorbed, and doesn’t leave a sticky or oily residue. I also use tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is good for acne spots and blemishes because it helps dry them up. I use this one more sparingly, as I tend to have very few breakouts, but it is good to have just in case. Both of the specific serums I use are unavailable online, but if you look for products that have those key ingredients in them they should do the trick. I would look at places like Walmart, Target, or your local drugstore.

IMG_5499

Moisturizer –

This is my favorite moisturizer, and I have been using it for about three or four years now. The Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer has been a bit of a “holy grail” in my skincare routine (before I really even had a skincare routine). For me, this product gets the job done and without breaking the bank. Since I tend to do my routine at the end of the day, I like to finish off with a pump of this moisturizer and then let it absorb into my skin over night. I always wake up with soft and dewy skin. Plus it has a little SPF in it for protection.

IMG_5500

This is the routine and the products that work for me. It has taken many years to curate and create this regimen, but I am very pleased with the results. I very rarely stray from this routine, except to try a new product or treat myself to a face mask. And while I know that this list of products won’t work for everyone, I hope that I have at least brought a couple of things to your attention.

If you have tried or use any of these products on a regular basis let me know! Or if you have any holy grail products of your own, leave them down in the comments. I would love to know!

I realize that this post might not be for everyone, and if you get nothing out of it I hope you at least get this: Take care of your skin. Take care of yourself. Find your own routine. Be confident in your own body. And love yourself.

Love, Kendall

P.S. If you have any other beauty/skincare tips you would like to hear from me next, I would love to hear it! Maybe a round up of my favorite face masks? Or my holy grail makeup items? Let me know!

Three Things I Learned in 2017

Hello and Happy New Year everyone!

I am so excited to share today’s post with you guys. This is a subject that has been on my mind for a very long time, but I only just found the right words for it. As you know, I just finished my second to last semester of college, and it was the toughest one yet. Earlier in the semester I severely injured my knee, and required surgery. As a result of this, I missed so much school that I spent the rest of the semester playing catch up. The work load just kept piling on, and the stress was almost too much to handle. Almost. But I am here to tell you that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I survived what has been the hardest year of my life, and I came out a much stronger person.

Below, I am going to share with you the three lessons I learned from my personal experiences of 2017, and how I grew as a result. I hope this will encourage you to look back on your year and focus on the things that grew you as a person. And if you feel like you didn’t achieve the level of growth you wanted, then work on it this upcoming year.

Disclaimer: I know what you are thinking. “Kendall, do you only shop at Old Navy?” The answer is…pretty much. I work there so I get a nice discount, but all of my opinions are honest and my own.

IMG_2755IMG_2924IMG_2775

1)  Don’t Be Afraid to Speak Up!

Whether it be in an office setting or within a friend group, you should never be afraid to voice your concerns and speak your mind. This was one of the biggest lessons I learned during my internship in New York. While working for a magazine, I had so many questions about the work behind the scenes. Why did we do the things we did? What affect did it have on the production? Who made those decisions, and what was the thought process behind them? I wanted to understand it all on a deeper level, and my superiors knew that. So when I asked these questions, they answered them. In fact, as the internship continued, they encouraged these learning sessions and enjoyed my enthusiasm towards my job. I understand this may not be the case in every situation, and that’s where the ability to discern whether your voice is appropriate in that setting comes in handy.

For example, if your friends are making plans without you and you feel left out, you should let them know. It may change nothing, or it may help them realize that they were leaving you out and hurting your feelings unintentionally. Or if you are applying for a job, it is good to be consistent when you check on the status of your application. You don’t have to do this everyday, in fact you definitely shouldn’t, but if you haven’t heard anything back for 10-12 days, it may be worth another call or email. No matter the scenario, you can make a lot more opportunities for yourself if you learn to speak up.

IMG_2887IMG_2803IMG_2881

2) Achievement is Relative

Now this one may sound a bit weird, but let me explain. When I was unable to walk because of my knee injury, I felt helpless. I couldn’t do anything on my own. I was constantly having to ask for help from those around me. It was truly a humbling experience. And something I learned from this is that we need to celebrate the little things. When you are injured, or stressed, or having a rough day, the littlest things are achievements. Getting up out of bed and going to class. Getting a big project done early. Drinking enough water. All of these things are achievements, and should be celebrated. Not everyone is able to climb Mount Everest or run a marathon. And sometimes the simple act of getting out of bed, can feel as big as Everest.

IMG_2779IMG_2903IMG_2763

3) I am Stronger Than I Think

If there is one thing this year has taught me, it is this. I am so much stronger than I ever thought I was. In 2017, I moved to New York on my own to pursue my dream internship. I lived in the big city for about three months and I loved every minute of it. I survived a surgery, which five months ago I never would have imagined I could do. I am terrified of needles, a fear which did everything it could to prevent me from going through with the surgery. But with the help and strength of those I love, I was able to overcome this fear. Not only did I go through with the surgery, but I also worked hard in physical therapy for weeks to get my mobility and strength back. After all of that, I had to put my nose to the grindstone and work hard to catch back up on all that I missed, while also getting my grades up.

IMG_2936

At the beginning of the year, I never could have imagined that I would be able to face all of the things that were thrown at me this year. But by the grace of God, the love of my family, and my own personal growth, I was able to get through 2017. I only hope that this post allowed you to reflect on your year in a positive way, and to look back on all the ways you grew. I wish you all a Happy New Year and I hope that 2018 is filled with even more growth and happiness for the both of us.

Cheers!

Love, Kendall

Lessons

I’m not going to lie to you. Right now, as I am typing this, I am also watching Gossip Girl on Netflix. There, I said it. The truth is out.

Hey. After the month that I’ve had, I deserve a time to detox and relax. I am finished with my first semester of college. Finals have come and gone and I have survived (though barely). Now I get to have a month free of any stress or worry. Related to school, that is.

So, here I am going to share my many lessons that I have learned during my first semester of college.

Leave your dorm. I can not stress this enough. During your first week at college you are going to feel like staying in your room and watching movies while eating microwave macaroni. This is called hiding and it is one of the worst things you can do.

At the same time, it’s perfectly acceptable to stay in on the weekends instead of going out. The first week I was at OSU my roommate and I binge watched 3 seasons of How I Met Your Mother. Eventually we did venture out and make friends but from time to time we still stay in and have movie night or Netflix marathons.

Talk to everyone. You will never have the opportunity in your life to talk to and meet so many different people from so man different backgrounds. Within my first week, I probably met over 200 different people. Now did I develop close friendships with all of them? Of course not. I didn’t even talk to a majority of those people after the first week but some of them did become very good friends. You never know who you are going to run into so go ahead and start a conversation! Anything can happen!

Which brings me to my next lesson. Anything can happen if you take every opportunity that is presented to you. Your friends what to go play a pick up game of Ultimate Frisbee? Go. Even if you don’t play (which you should) at least go and cheer them on or watch. There’s a midnight showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show on Halloween night? Go. No matter how crazy or boring or just plain out weird it sounds, at least consider going. One time there was a Coke machine in the Union that gave you a free Coke if you hugged it, and I missed out on it. Still regret it.

Here’s a big one. Don’t get stuck in high school. Did I say don’t have friends that are still in high school? No. Did I say don’t go to some of your old high school events (ex. Homecoming)? No. But there is a big difference between occasionally showing up at your old high school and saying hi to some teachers or friends, and remaining glued to the high school drama and gossip and overall lifestyle. Let it go and move on.

Homework is important. But so is your health. Sleep often and don’t push yourself beyond what you can handle. I say this from personal experience, it is not okay to cross the line between healthy stress and unhealthy stress. It is not okay to not sleep. It is not okay to not eat. Your mental and physical health is so much more important than that homework assignment.

Make memories. But don’t forget to keep those memories. One of my favorite things to do is to take lots of pictures of moments that make me happy. I print them off and hang the up all around my dorm room. It makes life feel less lonely and homesick. And those moments that cant be caught by a camera, I write them down put them in a jar. This is my Happy Little Thought Jar and on New Year’s I will open it up and read about all the memories I had forgotten about. No matter what your method is, just make memories and hold onto them.

Keep organized. I swear if I had a dollar for every assignment that I forgot about until after it was already due…well I would have two dollars. But if I had a dollar for every assignment I lost track of until something or someone reminded me of its due date, I would have a lot more money. The point is, write everything down. Get a planner. plan every day down by the hour if you have to. Get a calendar for your wall. Put it someone you will see it every day. Keep track of everything, due dates, meetings, class schedules. Everything. Whatever works for you, find it and do it. You will thank yourself later.

I think that covers the big, general, and basic ones. Off course I have a couple of my own that I have set up specifically for myself. Like don’t piss off the roommate. Text my parents everyday and call at least once a week. Don’t overdue it on the Netflix. Save money whenever possible. If something has to be cut from my schedule it will always be leisure time aka Netflix. Do my best not to procrastinate, we all know that one is difficult. Take lots of naps, but not so long that I can’t sleep at night. Don’t wear workout clothes in public unless I am actually going to work out. Dress up as often as possible and always try to put effort into my outfit. Make good impressions on my professors. Don’t go home so often that I miss out on my college experience. And finally, be happy. Easy to say but less simple to do.

And finally. I would like to that the opportunity right now to say thank you. Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this stressful transition. Thank you to my parents for always being there for me. Thank you to my friends for listening to my problems big and small. Thank you to my roommate for putting up with me and making m feel less homesick. Thank you to my Chi Alpha family for taking me in and making OSU feel more like home. Thank you to my home church for reminding me that no matter where I go I can always find a home with you guys. Thank you to everyone who is reading this blog, everyone who has thought of me and prayed for me, everyone who has sent me well wishes, and everyone who has taken the time to read the ramblings of a college freshman. Whether you know me personally or not, thank you.
